Dr. Kathein discussing X-ray findings with her patient

We use only digital radiography (digital x-rays), the latest technology for taking dental x-rays. Digital x-rays are excellent diagnostic tools because the image can be instantly viewed on the computer screen, saved to the patient’s files and enlarged for evaluation by our dentists. Our patients are happy to note that digital x-rays reduce radiation by 80-90% compared to the already low exposure of traditional dental x-rays.

Dental x-rays provide valuable information not visible during a regular dental exam. Our dentists and dental hygienists can use this information to safely and accurately detect hidden dental abnormalities and complete an accurate treatment plan. Dental X-rays may reveal:

- Abscesses or cysts
- Bone loss
- Cancerous and non-cancerous tumors
- Decay between the teeth
- Developmental abnormalities
- Poor tooth and root positions
